Membership

Our Membership Committee welcomes new visitors and coordinates “new membership classes” with our pastor; helping new members learn about Jesus Christ and our Church. We celebrate new members and baptisms with providing a cake to recognize them.

We reach out and invite our members and guests to fellowship in our Special Events held throughout the year. We collaborate with other committees and support one another to grow our relationships.

Mission

The Mission Committee is dedicated to reaching out to our community. We listen to God’s words and move forward with great joy and enthusiasm to serve. With the support of our congregation, the Mission Committee takes the lead in many projects to spread God’s love. At Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter we coordinate the Giving Baskets to provide a large holiday meal for those in need. We also work with local schools in our community to provide mittens, hats and Christmas gifts for children. Mission also manages the Food Pantry which provides our members and community with non-perishable food items. The Trash and Treasure Sale and Macomb County Warming Center projects fall under the responsibility of Mission. With incredible support from the congregation, the Trash and Treasure Sale raises funds for the Warming Center project and Celtic Cross’ General Fund. With this same level of support, Mission coordinates the Macomb County Warming Center host week. During this week, we provide a warm meal, a safe place to sleep and breakfast for the homeless in our community.

Prayer Group

You are invited to join us as we pray for our world, our nation, our community, our church family, and ourselves each Sunday morning before worship. We currently meet in the prayer room behind the Sanctuary from 9 am to 9:30 am before joining Sunday School classes or sharing in worship…

Property

The property committee is a group of volunteers committed to the upkeep and overall appearance of the building and grounds. We strive to keep the grounds beautiful and safe for everyone. We also keep the inside of our building clean by volunteers as well. We always could use more help. Just ask.

Women’s Ministry

The goal of the Presbyterian Women’s Group is to inform, educate and occasionally entertain, in January when we have a movie night. Sometimes that includes the men as well since our programs are open to all who are interested. We usually meet on the 4th Monday of the month at 7 P.M. except in December when we meet earlier due to the Christmas holiday. Where there are Presbyterian Women there’s also food for the body as well! During the summer months, we meet for fellowship at breakfasts and lunch gatherings.

Worship

The Worship Committee is an important part of the life of Celtic Cross. The Worship Committee is responsible for handling communion every month and making sure the sanctuary is properly decorated for the corresponding season in the life of the church. We also work alongside the Pastor to prepare and coordinate several of the events that happen throughout the year at Celtic Cross. Some of these events include the annual Kirkin O’ the Tartans service, which celebrates the church’s Scottish heritage, Christmas Eve worship, and the Holy Week services that take place during the season of Easter.
